It's the biggest building on either side of the border and it's the only casino on the New York side. You can't miss it-- it seems to pop up out of nowhere and lights up in an amazing rainbow of changing colors.
The real reason we choose to lose our money at this casino over the others is because of the monster-big, really-super-amazing-good buffet. It's actually called, "Thunder Falls Buffet." If you walk in from the parking garage you can't miss it: It'll have a line of people wrapped out into the main entrance of the building. But don't worry; the line moves fast and it's well worth the wait.
The casino itself has around 4,200 slot machines, including all the latest trendy ones with all the bells and whistles. I hang out in the second floor "balcony" and play the penny slots because I'm a cheapskate. There's usually a car or two that you can try to win by playing quarter or dollar slots. The progressive jackpots are impressive, often over a million bucks. If you're super-rich, there's over 50 "high limit" machines where one play costs 5 to 25 bucks a pull. (If I started playing those machines, I'd need to sell my house!) They're pretty generous when it comes to bringing free drinks around to the slot players. As with any casino, you'll get better service if you're playing the higher-priced machines.
As far as table games go, they've got roulette, craps, blackjack. There's a poker area too with 7 Card Stud, Omaha, and Texas Holdem being the favorites. And, of course, there's Keno at all the bars.
If you're a non-smoker the gaming area can be a less-than-desirable place. The hotel and restaurants are ok, but we don't usually gamble for too long here because the smoke gets pretty bad no matter where you are in the gaming area. Yes, they advertise no smoking sections, but *cough* the smoke is everywhere.
Parking at this casino is free. And the ramp is among the cleanest and safest in the City of Niagara Falls.
